Our Ethics and Compliance Program
Kaiser Permanente is committed to maintaining a culture of ethics and integrity. In all we do, we seek to comply with the expectations placed on us by members, patients, our workforce, regulators, and the public at large. Our commitment to ethics and compliance is central to delivering on our mission, to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve.
Governance Measures that Reflect our Values
Kaiser Permanente’s compliance program is intended to provide added assurance that we:
- Support our employees and third-party partners in fulfilling their legal, professional, and ethical obligations.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to our operations.
- Satisfy conditions of participation in health care programs funded by state and federal governments, the terms of our contractual arrangements, and applicable requirements associated with CMS programs, such as Medicare Part C and D program requirements.
- Detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, or other forms of misconduct by our employees, contractors, and agents who work on our behalf.
- Develop procedures that allow prompt, thorough investigation of alleged misconduct by the organization; and timely, appropriate corrective action.
